The Swish dominate the four team field, winning the championship with an average margin of victory of 41 points. The Swish gained a forfeit win in the championship game, after beating the second place team by 34 in pool play. Although the competition could have been better, this was a great start for the 2009 season, as the Swish displayed consistent effort throughout the tournament. Justin Johnson garners the MVP honor for the tournament, as the tournament takes place on his birthday.

The 3rd grade Swish battle hard in their first tournament as members of the Swish. The 3rd grade Swish were playing up in this tournament, playing against 4th and 5th grade players. The Swish played hard, winning their first game easily against the Newton Railers Gold. In the second game the Swish played against the always tough Emporia Jr. Spartans. The Swish had a chance to win but come up a little short after some late free throws extended a 2 point lead to the final 5 point margin. Against the Hillsboro Trojans, the Swish again win in convincing fashion to earn a trip to the 3rd place game versus the Wildcats of Moundridge. This game ended with the Swish trailing by 1 in the second half when the game was called by the referees.
